⛩ The Exploration Battalion is one of the three Corps making up the Army of Paradise, along with the Garrison and the Special Brigades.
As its name suggests, it is a section specialized in investigations, patrols and external expeditions of the Walls about the Titans, from their origin to the study of the possibilities of their extermination. It is therefore considered to be a suicide unit, since human beings are supposed to be "powerless" against the Titans.

Since the Fall of Shiganshina, the Exploration Battalion's goal has been to restore the freedom to humans that was once lost during the Titans' invasion and the destruction of the Maria Wall.

That is why their insignia represents two wings, called "wings of freedom". Following the revelation in Eren's basement, the Exploration Battalion turned their attention to the outside world and specifically to the Mahr people.
