Summary of the work Death Note

Light Yagami is an extremely intelligent young man who hates crime and corruption in the world. His life undergoes a radical change in 2003, when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as "Death Note", lying on the ground. The Death Note's instructions state that if a human's name is written in it, that person will die. Light is initially skeptical of the notebook's authenticity, but after experimenting with it, Light realizes that the Death Note is real. After meeting the former owner of the Death Note, a Shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become the "God of the New World" by passing judgment on those he deems evil or who get in his way.

Soon, the number of unexplained deaths of criminals reported draws the attention of the ICPO and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L soon learns that the murderer, known to the public as Kira, is in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without putting his finger on it. Light realizes that L will be his greatest enemy, and a psychological "cat and mouse" game between the two begins.

Death Note is a animr series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata. The series is centered on a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing the name of the victim while imagining his face. The plot follows his attempt to create and rule a world purified of evil using the book, and the complex conflict between him and those who beset him that results.
