History of Tokyo Revengers anime:

The life of Takemichi Hanagaki is at an all-time low. Just when he thought it couldn't get any worse, he finds out that Hinata Tachibana, his ex-girlfriend, has been murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang: a group of vicious criminals who have been disturbing the peace of society for some time.

Wondering where everything went wrong, Takemichi suddenly finds himself time-traveling, finding himself 12 years in the past, when he was still in a relationship with Hinata. Realizing that he has a chance to save her, Takemichi decides to infiltrate the Tokyo Manji Gang and work his way up the ranks to rewrite the future and save Hinata from her tragic fate.

The initial identity of the gang was a group of elementary school biker friends formed by six middle school friends from schools around Tokyo.

Toman was founded on June 19 with Baji's idea of creating his own gang so that he could fight the Black Dragons . Their gang was founded with the motto: "If one of us gets hurt, we'll protect him...a gang that's all for one, one for all."

Toman started as a group of middle schoolers: Mikey, Draken, Baji, Mitsuya, Pah-chin and Kazutora. At that time, they were riding bikes, looking for fun and generally having fun. They were constantly teasing and playing pranks on each other, but it was all in good faith. In 2003, Mitsuya created the uniforms that would become Toman's official uniform a few years later and the iconic photo of the founders was taken.

A few days before Mikey's birthday, Kazutora wants to steal a better bike for Mikey and convinces a reluctant Baji to go with him. They almost steal the bike, but the store owner catches them. To avoid being arrested, Kazutora hits him with a wrench, but accidentally kills him. Kazutora gets out of the ordeal and is sent to a reform school. The naive and pure Toman was no more.

Toman is led by Mikey and Draken as leader and vice-leader, respectively. There are five divisions that include about 20 guys each.

• First Division - This division is co-led by Keisuke Baji and Kazutora Hanemiya and at the time of the Gang's founding, was designed as an "attack unit." Following the events of Valhalla , the First Division is now led by Takemichi Hanagaki .
• Second Division - Headed by Takashi Mitsuya , the Second Division was originally intended to be the "elite guard" of the gang.
• Third Division - The third division is headed by Pah-chin , the gang's first flag bearer. The division seems to specialize in brute force.
• Fourth Division - Headed by Smiley , little information is known about this division.
• Fifth Division - The division led by Mucho , is a "special task division" that has allowed for infighting. They are considered the "Public Morality Council" of Toman. They can punish any traitor to Toman without the decree of the leader.
• Sixth Division - A temporary sixth division was created after the gang absorbed members of the Moebius and Valhalla gangs . It was led by Shuji Hanma, who had previously been the leader of the two rival gangs. After Hanma left Toman, he took his subordinates with him and the division was disbanded.

Most of the members are college students. The gang's ethos is to defend the honor of each member and never stoop to acting in a deplorable or cowardly manner.

The actual Toman from one of the alternate timelines has since been completely distorted by a few individuals. Now the gang has become a full-fledged crime syndicate, committing every crime imaginable.
