History of the anime Chainsaw Man

Following a betrayal, a young man left for dead is reborn as a powerful devil-man hybrid after merging with his pet devil and is soon enlisted in an organization dedicated to hunting devils.

When his father dies, Denji is left with a huge debt and no way to pay it back. Thanks to a demon dog he saved named Pochita, he manages to survive by doing odd jobs and killing demons for the Yakuza. Pochita's chainsaw powers are very useful against these powerful demons. When the Yakuza betrays him and he is killed by the Zombie Devil, Pochita sacrifices himself to save his former master. Denji is then reincarnated as a kind of weird hybrid between the Devil and the Man. He is now a Chainsaw Man!

The world is being ravaged by Demons, monsters from another world that feed on human fear. Despite their antagonistic nature, humans can actually form alliances with these demons and gain powers of their own. The protagonist, a downtrodden young man named Denji, strives to erase his father's enormous debt to the yakuza. Pochita, a demon disguised as a dog with a chainsaw for a nose, helps him in this endeavor.
