⛩ Gin Ichimaru was the 3rd Captain of the 13 Divisions before he betrayed the Soul Society alongside Sōsuke Aizen and Kaname Tōsen. Because of his position, he is a major antagonist of the Arrancar Arc.

Gin is a very mysterious man with his almost constant smile and slitted eyes, combined with his extensive use of sarcasm and mocking politeness, it is very difficult to discern his thoughts. Many find his behavior and appearance rather unsettling and there are very few who were willing to trust him even before he was revealed as a traitor.

In his Shikai, Gin's blade, Shinsō, is white and extends at great speed to impale Gin's opponents at a distance. The blade also carries tremendous force when extended, allowing Gin to push both Ichigo Kurosaki and the giant Jidanbō out from under the Seireitei gate. In addition, Gin can hold the extension and swing the activated Shinsō in wide arcs, attacking multiple targets quickly and simultaneously.
