⛩ Guts known as "The Black Swordsman" , is a former mercenary and trademark drifter who travels the world in a constant internal struggle between pursuing his own ends and maintaining his attachments to those he holds dear.

Casca is a former commander of the Falcon Band and a former partner of Guts.

During their adventures, Guts and Casca struck up a romance that was one of the reasons why Griffith became Femto.

After Guts's departure and Griffith's subsequent imprisonment, she is forced to assume the position of group leader, managing to prevent the complete annihilation of the Falcon Gang and rescue Griffith from the Renaissance Tower. Crippled by his horrific year-long torture and demoralized by his fall from grace, Griffith finally summoned the Eclipse, in which he was reborn as Femto, a God Hand.

After his rebirth he raped Casca in front of Guts in order to break him mentally. Having physically survived the ordeal, she nevertheless found herself mentally broken, suffering from infantile amnesia and being virtually mute.

After this, Guts set off in search of Casca's soul fragments, which would surely restore her sanity.
