⛩ Mayuri Kurotsuchi is Second Division Captain of the 13 Divisions. He has also headed the Technical Development Office since Urahara's departure. Because of his position, he is a major character in Bleach.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi is a particularly cold and cruel Shinigami, seeing every being as a more or less worthy subject for scientific study. Nevertheless, he comes across as genuinely passionate about his research, which translates into undisguised enthusiasm when he finds a new subject to study or a situation where he can test the fruits of his research.

He doesn't hesitate to sacrifice his subordinates, and particularly mistreats his Vice-Captain and "daughter" Nemu Kurotsuchi, whom he created himself and whose mistake he can't stand (because it means he's failed in his creation).
